I'm riding the BHF London to Brighton Bike Ride again

Application made, entry fee paid, confirmation e-mail received.

I'm riding the BHF London to Brighton Bike Ride again.

Last year I rode as part of a team of work colleagues on cargo bikes, but this year we are having trouble getting the bikes (they are due to be shipped to Africa), but, hey, I'm doing it anyway, and if I can't get a Pashley Mailstar, I'll take Mermaid instead.

Where I ride, according to Multiple Ride Mapper

I found a nice little tool for mapping my rides.
Multiple Ride Mapper
It takes my Strava data and maps it all out.
Rioutes that I ride in a lot show up in brighter colours, while those I ride just once or twice show up as dark blue.
Here's my personal map:

Where There's a Wheel There's a Way!

Saw this a while back, and I thought I share it with you - a bike with a surf-board carrier.
The bike is just a run-of-the-mill machine from Halfords (a "big box" store in the UK), but the surf-board mounts are something special!

New Year's Day Ride 2015

I started by cycling to the town centre where I saw this nice Boardman fixie!

Review for 2014 - about 3400 km cycled

What a year it was.
I suppose the highlight was my first ever "Imperial" century - a 100 mile ride on Mermaid
My 100 mile route completed on the 11th August 2014
The year had started grey and damp with a ride on January 1st on Mermaid, during which the drizzle never stopped.
Expecting snow, I fitted "snow tyres" in late January, but the snow never came, and I ended up keeping them on until June as "resistance training" tyres.

By April, I'd been lent a 25 kg 3-speed Pashley Mailstar bike, and I took that out in May on some decent training rides, such as a half-century route that included the NOTORIOUS Whiteleaf Hill (as featured in the book of 100 great hill climbs), where I half-cycled, half-dragged, the bike to the top.
