Buying a Bike - Part III. Measuring up the folders!

As mentioned in Part II, there is a space about 750mm x 750mm next to my desk at work where a folding bike could be stored, safe and sound.

So how small do folding bikes fold?
And will they fit in the space next to my desk?

Also, how much do they weigh?
My little Cinzia is pretty heavy, and I don't want an even heavier folding bike than that!
My Cinzia is very similar to the Peugeot P20, which has a quoted weight of 32 lbs (14.5 kg) so I will set that as the top weight limit for a folding bike. I might go a bit over to allow for lights, dynamo (hub or "bottle"), racks and other "useful" features, but in general, I think the weight of a P20 is about all I want to lift!
Using my previous list:

• a Montague Paratrooper  - folds to about 900x700x300mm (and that includes removing the front wheel!) - TOO BIG !!! The weight of the Paratrooper is about 29 lbs (13.2kg).
• a stainless steel Di Blasi - the R22 folds to about 680x640x210mm - room to spare! It weighs 13.4kg (c. 29.5 lbs) including lights and dynamo. The previous 20" wheel model, the R21, only folds to 800x710x240mm, and weighs 16kg, so would be too big, and a bit too heavy as well! the now-discontinued 16" wheel model, the R24, was small enough and light enough at 640x580x225mm and 13.2 kg (c. 29 lbs)
• a Japanese Sugimura - not sure, but the available videos make it look like it folds VERY small, if quite wide, I'm guessing it is similar to the bike it looks rather like (the Brompton), at 585x545x270mm.
• several models of Dahon - the Vibe C7A folds to 800x660x300mm, so it is TOO BIG!!!, while the Ciao D5 folds smaller at 740x660x340mm - just about small enough. The Boardwalk D8 comes in at 780x650x310mm, and is also too big. The Ikon D3, folding to 750x630x300mm, looks promising if you are a fan of 3-speed hub gears - and I certainly am!
• a Graziella - a modern one folds to 830x630x400mm - TOO BIG !!!
• a Citizenbike Miami - folds to 890x597x432mm - TOO BIG !!!
• a used Peugeot NS- with its simple frame fold, it is likely to be TOO BIG.
• a Brompton - folds to 585x545x270mm - room to spare!
• a Tern - the Eclipse P7i, with its bigger wheels and built in lights and dynamo sounds great, BUT folding to only 890x760x420mm, it is just TOO BIG!!! The minimalist Verge Duo, which folds to 790x720x360mm, is also just TOO BIG, as are the similarly-sized Link D7i and Swoop D7i. The other models currently offered by Tern are even bigger!
• something cheap from ebay - like a Peugeot U-frame folder being advertised at the moment (a Peugeot P20, by the look of it) - with its simple frame fold, it is likely to fold to about the same size as the Graziella - i.e. TOO BIG. It weighs in at (according to Peugeot's 1986 catalogue) at 32 lbs (c. 14.5 kg).
• another Cinzia - with its simple frame fold, it is also likely to fold to about the same size as the Graziella - i.e. TOO BIG. My broken Cinzia is certainly too big for the space next to my desk - I tried it a while back! My Cinzia is VERY similar in design and construction to the Peugeot P20, so is likely to weigh about the same, i.e. about 32 lbs (14.5 kg)
